Widespread, although likely under-recorded in England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland Psectra diptera (Burmeister, 1836) is unusual in that a micropterous form occurs in which the hind wings are vestigal. Lack of flight in the micropterous form may account for the scarcity of records, few other lacewings being caught in pitfall traps.
